The Day of Cosmonautics

12 april, 2015, Saratov region


Saratov region can be considered as “the first space harbuor of the Earth". It is associated with years of studing, flight training and the landing of the world's first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Thousands of people from Saratov and visitors from all areas of Russia and abroad come to the memorial site to pay homage to the great hero of this country. The second cosmonaut of the planet G.S. Titov has landed in Saratov area, behind Volga river, too.

Traditionally the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the region together with the administration of Engels municipal body organizes the set of sports, cultural and recreational activities devoted to the Day of Cosmonautics.
